Where you launch at Bullards its 600 feet deep with a MASSIVE Dam. Good fishing is probably about 3 miles away or more from the launch area. Its a great lake certain times of the year but not kickboat friendly at all. Its not worth that long of a drive to fish with a kickboat...

I think that team tournys dont count towards angler of the year. Toc fine. No splitting up.1 livewell. As far as locations are concerned we should all go out and check new water and come to the meeting and explain whats what. The club is growing and we are getting interest from people outside the 707 alot of members travel along way to fish. Tournament schedule's play a roll in your choices which dictates AOY race. If you don't want to make the journey use those as your throw outs. I will give more thought to these ?s and we can make informed decisions.

I know the emerald cove marina is by the dam, but bullards map also shows dark day launch ramp up the east side of the lake, which also shows campsites at dark day.

San pablo has big spots and largies but I don't think you can kickboat it. You are right about the water contact.

Gotcha, I just looked at the map. I have fished there a couple of times with guys that are familiar with the lake and we never went that direction. There are some pig spots in that lake but I would like to see if someone could go up there in a kickboat and access any decent water before we had a tourny there.

What if at  Bullards Bar we allow motors?  looks like a big lake, and since it is first time there maybe we can make an exception to the motor rule. everything i find on line indiactaes you have to go far from any launch ramps.  just a thought.

No motors allowed, unless you want to try and get it on the 2012 ballot and have it voted on.

It looks like dark day is surrounded by points. I see the concerns of not being there as a club before, thats a long way to have it be a bust. I am planning on trying to get up there maybe Sunday or in the next few weeks and fishin out of dark day. If I make it I'll be sure to post a report and take pictures of the campground, launch, fish(hopefully), and the terrain.

I know Andy fished there with Tom L and didn't go far from the launch and caught fish.  I will let him fill you in though because i don't know many details.
