You can access this from Dan Foley Park. I used to fish here with my Dad when I was younger, and when the place was on the Golf Course. I believe both Todd the Toadman or Andy Parsons fished there also. http://www.gvrd.org/danfoley.html

I would like to try fishing it but haven't gotten around to doing it. I did see guys fishing it out of tubes a couple of years ago when I was chaperoning my son's 7th grade field trip to the park. BTW - that was a long day. The rides were packed, I didn't feel like standing in line for hours, & I looked like an old wino sleeping on a park bench.

I would be interested in making a trip there sometime later this month or in May if anybody else wants to try it.

Anybody interested in making an exploratory fishing trip to this lake on Saturday AM or PM? There's a gate that apparently opens @ 8 AM & they close the park @ 7 PM. There is a $4 fee to park, too.

Andy, you should get hold of Ryan Thoni. He used to call himself Chabot Kid in his younger days. He posts under his real name over on WesternBass. I bet he could give up some valuable info on Chabot.

Good luck

Any truth to the rumors that this is where Marine World, trains the sharks for the show? I used to tell my kids this when they were younger so they would not go close to the shore!

You are correct, sir. I have seen tubers fishing the lake & bank anglers but have never tried it myself. Also, Doug, I'll try to get hold of Ryan T. I think Mark Serrano of BNT has fished it, too.

The excitement of my journey to the Marine World lake will have to be postponed, as I’ve been redirected by High Command. However, I may try it the following Saturday. If anyone wants to join me in dissecting this lake, breaking it down & bringing in an unbelievable catch of 10+ lb lunkers, let me know & we can meet there.

My bigger worry is that I’m going to drive 45 minutes to end up fishing Fountaingrove 2.0.

I was looking this up and found this web sit that said that you can use a float tube in the water there as long as you are waring waders. For how big the club is getting this would be a good possibel lake for us to start fishing.

I fished this place a couple of times as a kid back in the early 70s. Nice little lake.

Apparently those bass are loving the trout plants:

"...On 4/27, Sou Saechao of Oakland caught an 18lb., 11oz. bass fishing from the 2nd Dock using a fish trap ( silver & green Glitter)..."

Nothing like catching a monster while sitting on a dock.
