dude I am done with fountain grove after that encounter with that rattlesnake. Its not worth fishing for those bass with all the precautions  we have to take out there.
Safe decision guys! Good luck out there!

i am with you dom i seen a big rattler swimming. 1-2# little bass are not worth the risk of rattlers. i would rather watch my swimbaits in a pool then fish that lake.

I'm in.  See you at 7:00 am at the 7-11.  Its been a while since I fished new water and I have wondered about that lake every time I drove by it.

Hey Guys,

This is a great place to fish but did anyone check about the gate being closed for winter? It is a long walk from the gate to the launch, I have tried it. You can drive around it but you got to hop the curb and drive on the grass.

They also dump alot of planters in there, we caught at least 20 a piece cranking this past June, we kept 10 and BBQ'ed them up.

Here is a LM from that same trip.

I googled the park and it mentions nothing about being closed for the winter.  Has it been closed in the winter before that you know of David?
