What technique or bait do you want to learn to master this year?

My goal last year was to be a better frog fisherman and I don't feel I accomplished it so that is my goal again this year.

I too would love to master the winning technique but since that is not always possible I would like to get better with a jig.

Uh Binh, he said bait or technique...

The plastic swimbait for me. I only have a few fish ever on them. No, I'm not talking about a 5" basstrix but rather the hudds, baitsmith, osprey's, etc. I just don't throw them enough but will do better this year!

Great topic Big Dave!

AWalk, I have found a good rod and the right line really makes a big difference with Senkos and jigs. Another thing to try is pinching the line with your fingers above the reel while the bait is falling. That allows you to feel the slightest tick on senko. On top of that watch your line in the water at all times, half the time it will swim away with it and you don't even realize it.

AC is right when the bait is falling u should have your finger on your line so u can feel it if one was to pick it up off the fall and u have to watch your line.  Also when u think u are fishing it slow slow down even more thats the key is to fish em real slow

If its on a baitcaster I usually use 15 pound Fluorcarbon for most applications. Whatever weight you like to use Flurocarbon seems to be the best way to go.

I am with Dave on this one.  I need to learn how to fish a frog and gain some real confidence with it.  Got to leave the jiggin rod at home a few times this year.

I also want to pay more attention to the details. Like names of things and weights. I am really bad at that. I can never remember the names and manufacturers of the lures, lines, hooks, weights and my fish.

I got schooled a couple times in 2009 on a chatterbait, and I see all kinds of possibilities for them in my own fishing. I'm going to dedicate a good bit of time to learning them and applying them to my style of fishing. I don't see a lot of guys using them, and and I think they can become a valuble tool for me this year.
