Every single fish I've caught have been on jigs or the drop shot. Those were the two techniques I wanted to learn in 2009. In 2010, I'm looking at learning how to fish lipless cranks (especially after seeing so many post on you guys slaying with this lure) and swimbaits (just because I think they are so cool in the water).

Of course I know I'll get it down since you guys were the ones to tell me how to fish the jig and drop shot last year. At this pace, I'll be ready to contend for AOY by 2015.
Eh, if can..can. No can...no can.

true that, same for me, i think i still need more work on the dropshot technique though...... hah! i could hardly drop the spinning rod, only for crankbaits because that was the only other thing i would nail good fish on, but pretty much anything else especially swimbaits, flippin', and jigs. all that good stuff.

I was thinking the same thing as RevRat.  I picked up a few Vibrating Jigs and want to try throwing those a bit more.  I see many different technique possibilities with that lure.

2009 was killer for me with picking up new techniques.  I really became comfortable Crankin, Flippin and Froggin. I really want to find patience and success  with Carolina Rig and the Swim bait.  But I must admit just the thought of the frog fish exploding out of the mat keeps me awake at night.

But it can be done! I have got a lot more confidence in the jerkbait over the last few months and landed some big fish.

Chris, jerkbaits cadence really depends on the time of year and what the fish are reacting to. Winter usually means longer pauses but in summer you can do a KVD and get hammered (like speed burning a trap but with very short pauses).

I've personally caught a lot more jerk bait fish out of the kick than on boats. I feel I have better control.
