Hello everyone. Life as real estate agent in Lake County is tough these days. As a result I am offering my services as a guide and instructor on Clearlake. (Lake Sonoma is also possible)

Many of you don't know me. My name is Benno Heune. I am an original founder of the SCBBBC and have been bass fishing for over 30 years. I have fished tournaments on and off for over 20 years. I have a well rounded knowledge of bass fishing techniques, tournament fishing and Clearlake itself. My personal specialties are: Flipping, Jig fishing, Reaction Baits, and overall fish finding, as well as tournament strategy and management. If you have any interest in improving your skills and learning about Clearlake please give me call, or send me an e-mail.

If you are wondering who the hell is this guy and why would I want to fish with him, talk with Todd Iwamoto, Rich Caro, and Bill Sweat. They can give you pretty good idea if it would be worth your time and money.

I have an 18ft Skeeter bass boat that runs well. It is better for one person but I can accomodate two people. I am looking to charge $100 per day plus gas.(The boat holds 15 gallons so about $45.00 max.) This rate would be for one or two people. Although I can be an effective guide I think the best thing I can provide is solid instruction in all aspects of bass fishing. I look forward to talking with you.

I can definitely vouch for Benno, the guy is a very good stick and is very versatile in all aspects of bass fishing.I`ve fished with him on several occasions and even won my first tourney when him and I were paired up way back in the day.To this day I still get some great ideas and perspectives about bass fishing when we go out fishing. To those looking to improve there skills and learn new skills and learn some new water on clear lake this is a great opportunity especially for $100.00 and gas that's an unheard of price these days!BTW he`s got a great talent for pouring baits as well!

For those who don't know Benno he is one of the best bass fishermen I know. His intuition, mental preparation and ability to "think like a bass" is what sets him apart from many fishermen. I've had the pleasure to know him for a number of years now and cashed my first boat team tournament check at Sonoma on our first tournament together!

I would highly recommend anyone on this board to take him up on his generous offer. I learn something from him everytime we fish together and wish I could get out with him more often.

On Bill's note, I've caught big fish of the tournament in a few SCBBBC tournaments on the famous "Benno's Bug". This along with MANY others that helped me cash a few checks!

Again, if you want great instruction and learn Clear Lake, he is the one I would go to!

Todd

Benno knows himself. Take it from me. He helped me catch my first jig fish which at that time was a personal best. Count me in Benno, as soon as I get settledin my new job (fingers crossed), I will be asking for you....

Don't miss out on this chance to fish with the Man, Mr. Benno.
I met Benno at Ilsanjo when I was 14 or 15 while we floated around in our old school round tubes. I remember it well, he asked if I wanted to trade some lures. I traded some basspro spinner baits I had bought. They had a short arm to the blade and a long arm to the hook. These were the first item's I purchase from basspro as a kid.

One of the best things about catching my 11 pounder at Highland Springs was the fact that I shared the day with Benno.
This guy is a true bass angler in every way. I still have some of these killer baits that he poured for me 20+ years ago. Benno is the Rick Clunn of the SCBBBC.

He was at the very first turkey shoot I put on in 1983. The first club meeting's were at Benno's house. If I'm not mistaken it was Benno who designed our original classic club logo. This guy can teach all of us a thing or two about this sport. For $100.00 he's selling himself short big time. I will be calling him and jumping on board his boat and learning some spots and some winning tricks.

Thanks for the kind words my friends. I am looking forward getting out there with you when we can. I wanted everyone to know that I am fishing the FWL Series event at the end of October. As a result I cannot fish after the 8th of October. And you guys have been kind enough to book me for the 6th and the 7th. So unless someone wants to go out during the week on the 4th or 5th, I will be available again the Sunday after the tournament on the 28th.
As you all may know the bite up here has been ruthlessly though. I have been able to find fish when I get out but it's not easy or even very predictable. I have been moving pretty fast trying to get the fish to show themselves and then slowing down once I find a few in a small area. It's been kind of working, but I have caught some pretty nice bags, nothing over 25lbs, but I haven't been under 12lbs yet (thank God). Most days have been between 15 - 18lbs. At the end of October they should start moving into the fall feeding binge in November and December. For those of you who love to throw a ripbait and crawl a jig around it should be great. I can't wait to get out there. By the way if anyone wants to come up the night before a trip, my couch and futon are pretty comfy, and the BBQ is always ready.

Thanks again,

Benno

This is a great opportunity to take advantage of. I hired Benno for Oct 7th. I am going to be more or less renting a 18' Skeeter bass boat for a fraction of a boat payment. I will also get one of the most knowledgeable anglers on the boat with me.

For $150.00 you can be guided and or just fish the front of the boat, ( If you know how to control a boat ) for a day on Clear Lake. You don't have to worry about storage, payments or maintenance. What a win win situation.
See ya all on Clear Lake.

Rich
