I had a guy at a local shop took the skeet reel apart and they have the same component as a revo s.  So you're paying for the name and color and nothing else.  If I were you Martin, buy two reels or buy one light reel and get a rod.

Just pick up the revo premier same price or cheaper and a good flipping stick.  You can spend more on the Shimano core or Daiwa steez.  I have a few and that was the reason why I got rid of my revos.  I actually have one Revo SX left for the swimbait rod.  Thinking of getting rid of that combo.  Mmmmm any takers.  Revo SX and G Loomis MH 3-6oz swimbait rod.

Dom, thats exactly what I was trying to say to AWalk about buying something. Because of its name or brand, people will try to tell you you have to buy that one. You don't have to spend more on something that is exactly the same except it has a signature on it. You always have to remember that the people at the fishing shops are trying to sell you something as well as give you advice. Thats good advice about going with someone so as to avoid buying something because of peer presure.

hey binh did you say that reel was a lefty! if it is give me a price to work with and i'll see if i can work something out.

and joel it doesn't matter what poeple use just worry about your own fishing stuff and if someone else is doing something you don't like....well then that's they're problem. but really if you saw a reel that was $50 and one that was $300 bucks and they worked around the same. which one would you choose?

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anybody. I was just trying to point out that you get pressure to buy something because of "salesmen". I have no problem with anybody buying anything.

Pressure is something that you have to look out for. I always shop at western sports because they dont pressure you to buy anything. And my idea of buying equipment is that sometimes its best to save up the extra buck for the long run, and sometimes the cheaper stuff will work but you have to be careful on what you buy. You can notice a big difference when fly fishing with the right gear.
No need to be sorry there is no offense taken.

Definitely for fly fishing. But fly fishing is totally different than regular fishing.
