Dom, you're right, they are good for crappie,bluegill,perch,catfish, northern pike, muskie, walleye, smallies, and oh yeah, and the occasional largemouth bass. Have you caught all those on your baitcasters? My opinion on this subject is, if you are comfortable with it ,use it, if not don't! Fishing is suppose to be fun, if you clutter it with a whole lot of opinions, you will be second guessing yourself. just have fun dude, and remember, hooksets are free, take as many as you like!!!     scottyb
