Do to the fact that the Cal State Federation Nation tournament is scheduled for Sept 20th and 21st this conflicts with the SCBBBC Clear Lake tourney on the 20th. I would like to fish both tournament as would several other SCBBBC members. One of the benefits of joining the SCBBBC is you also become a member of the BASS Federation Nation. They have one state team qualifying tournament a year and Lake Shasta is it. I don't want to move the date just because of the parking. I would like to move the date so we can fish both tournaments.

I'm going to Shasta regardless and it would suck to miss our Clear Lake tournament. So I'm propose a vote at the next SCBBBC meeting.

Rich

would it make a difference in a 6 or 8 hour day?  6 hour tourneys are soooo short for a tube tourney, really affects how I fish my day.

Yes, it would make it a 6 hour float tube tournament and an 16 hour boat tournament on Shasta in a real boat. Then if your one of the top 12 from Shasta you'll be able to go to another state.

I can't make it to the meeting but would be fine with it. I do know guys want to head up to Shasta. That's the best and easiest way to make it to the Classic! How many chances do we have besides this route???

Wait.... maybe I missed the answer, so changing the event date WOULD make it a 6 hour tournament? I'd love to make this one, but cruising up to CL for a short tournament would be a little rough. Still, I think if there's enough members that want a crack at this federation opportunity than we should support them.

I would be very happy with a change to the 13th rather than the 20th.

I'm have very mixed emotions on the date change.
Let's say that there's a BASS or FLW tourney that coincides with one of or tourney and a few guys wanted to fish it. Would we as a club vote to change it for a few people? If 50% of the club was going to fish the State tourney then I would vote for a change. But if we're only talking about a handful of people, then it would definitely be a different story.

I don't have the ability to make the meetings, but would vote no for a date change. Plus, I would have to side with Graves on the fact that I'd rather fish Clear Lake for 9 hrs. rather than 6. But then again, this club is a democracy and I can live with any decision that the club makes.

R we allowed to run for any of our Clear Lake tourneys this year? Including the TOC?

Just my $.02

Let me clarify my view on the change. If it was to be on the 20th i most likely wouldn't be able to make it do to it being the last days of my hunting season. I am ready to take a goose egg and was planning on it, but if it was being moved up a week i would be happy. As someone else has said it is a democracy so the club vote will tell it all.

If the 6 hour rule is a problem why not move it to the 27th instead so we can fish a full day? I don't mind changing the date because there's a BNT Delta Region tournament on the 21st. My old bones have a real hard time making back to back events like that.

I thinks its because that would make it back to back weekends with the classic.

That makes sense. I didn't realize that this was so close to the Classic. Where would we launch for this tournament anyway?

The Sept launch's from Library park, the Classic from State Park and the TOC launchs from our motel, The Skylark and we weigh-in at Library Park. We have alway worked our dates around Bassmasters and FLW, but the state federation nation didn't have a date when we made our scedual. One of the purpose's of our club is to help angler's improve their fishing skill's so they can compete at the next level. The State qualifier at Shasta is the next level and it's one of just three tournaments on the path for one of us to make it to the Bassmaster's Classic.

I understand were fishing 6 hour's is a bummer, but we can move it a week before the Classic. You can use it as prefishing. What's it matter if it's one week before the Classic? Don't all you guy's prefish the weekend before?

Rich

Kinda sounds to me like you got those running permits. You holdin out on us Richy?

I would rather fish back to back weekends than a 6hr day, and if we will be able to run, all the more reason to do it on the 27th to really take advantage of all your hard work Rich.

I have changed my mind and would definetly vote for a change either way, one week before or after, with the deciding factor being running or not. I think that we should give those that want to fish this every chance without having to chose between a possible AOY/TOC berth and fishing the qualifier. If its on Clearlake or the Delta next year Im gonna fish it and wouldnt want to be in the shoes Rich and MIke are in now.
