You're right. I hope to be the first member in the club to fly fish for bass. How was your trip to Oregon?

I have heard that fly fishing for bass can be very effective, but fountain grove might not be a very good place to do it. It is full of weeds, and requires pretty heavy equiptment.

On the contrary,I think flyfishing with those little poppers could be quite effective out there.I`ll be out there tomorrow if Wills team loses their playoff game tonight against the yankees.

That is true about the poppers. You would have quite a bit of fun with the panfish blasting them too. Just be sure you have weedless poppers, and that you can get the fish away from the weeds quickly.

well walt we can fly fish this turkey shoot, and the trip to oregon was great. heading up to the bow river soon too. and joel your right fly fishing for bass can be very good. poppers are the most common way to do it but streamers work great too. and at fountain grove i you go out abou 10 yards yo will have about 3 feet between the weeds and the surface so thats all you need.

I will not be there this week do to family being in town.  I hope that you guys end up going out there though.  It always nice to know that people are just showing up to fish.

Fly fishing at FG should be good.  I do well with all sort of  minnow imitations so I don't know why flys would not do well.

I am planning on heading out fishing tomorrow night and getting my feet wet. Whether its at F.G, Spring, or a hike to Ilsanjo is still up in the air.
