Who's interesting in floating half moon bay for some Halibut when they're in..
We can launch out of the harbor and it's protected.  at the very end behind protective sea wall they have a bait tank holding anchovies for bait.  A lot of fish hang close by there.  I knew a guy tube through there with a fly rod sink tip line and nailed a 10 lber.

or

Drift Oyster point marina for flatties and stripers?  It's challenge

If you are down this way I will go out in the kickboat at Port San Luis (San Luis Obispo county) Short row to the inside of the Jetty for endless amounts of rock fish, cab's, and later in the summer Hali's! Its also a lot calmer water then what we will see out on the outside of Rattle snake next weekend

bassin sounds cool I wouldn't mine some rock fish.  Lots of good places just don't want to fish it alone

Yo Darren,

Definitely no bodega bay.  Only shark you have to worry in the bay is Leopard sharks and they are harmless.  They only get to about 4 feet in the bay.  In Half moon bay, never caught a shark while drifting for Halibut.

Honestly, its not the poss ability of being hit by a shark (VERY Rare, look at how many Yakers are on the water every day) its the seals that can get weird...they can be a lot bigger then the kickboat and get very close when reelin in a fish...Truth be know....its all about the adventure
