Chaparral Cove
They charged $5 for the day. It would be $25 to camp overnight and the 5 would be applied to the camping fee. They have put a lot of work into improving the camp sites.

Chaparral Cove
Carlene & I decided on a day trip yesterday out since the weather was so sunny. We went to Chaparral Cove, which has been renamed Putah Creek Cove. Of course I took the boat along too.

The lake level has dropped to about the end of the launch ramp. CAUTION the ramp end is very mossy and VERY slick. Rowing about up into Pope Canyon (just around the bend of the campground) had no shoreline cover, just rock.

Rowing toward the Putah Creek bridge (never got to the pilings because of a bass boat) showed the same, only rock to the water line. Water temp was 54 degrees, even over 40 foot depths and only about 2 feet visibility.

I only graphed 2 fish the whole time. And they are still there, no bites.

My shoulders were toast from rowing!

Whats up guy long time no talk!!
Your roof rack would not have much strain on it because the Hitch Hand holds the weight. The roof rack is to keep the boat from bouncing. The Hitch Hand bed extender seems to cost about 135 to 160 on my google search.
On mine I added the lights because the boat covered up the jeep's rear lights.
Good Luck!

Hi Daniel. You have seen the rig I use with a Hitch Hand attached to my jeep & camper. Even though many in the club have laughed at it, I think it is an easy way to transport the boat without having to put it on the roof. My foot rests on the Outcast are solid which gives me an attachment point to the Hitch Hand. The foot rests are held on by grabber clamps and straps. Then I put another set of straps down to the bumper from a point higher on the boat's frame. If you have a roof rack on the 4runner then the upper straps would be more effective. I will try to post some pictures I just took of the combination on the jeep. If you want higher resolution pictures just let me know.
I hope you are having a great time with your son!

Is Spring Lake open?
I just want to take my kick boat out and try out a new rod. I'm thinking Spring is the closest and might have some water. Or I could try Fountaingrove, about the same distance from home.
Thanks!!

Let's Go Petaluma!!!!!!
They unfortunately lost 6 to 9 to Kentucky. Only one loss, they're still in the mix. I think their next game is tomorrow and the US final is next weekend.

info on Whites
Aaron I originally started out only fly fishing with the club about 3 years ago. I found that I could not get many of my sub surface jigs through the tulies or mats to reach the fish. I have fished to the left and right of the launch area but haven't gone much more than 1/4 mile in either direction. Many members went to the right quite a ways and had luck. I did have some luck casting a jig up against the rip rap to the left and bringing it out (using a sinking shooting head) and dragging the bottom. All directions you are facing outward toward the water.
Recently I am trying to learn to fish conventional tackle during tournaments reserving files for frogs & mice on the surface.
Good luck!
Walt
PS most everyone is going to the tournament this weekend on the delta out of Stockton, South of where hwy 12 meets 99 (at 8 mile road).
