Hey

I think the limit is reached for the float-tube!

6feet of wels catfish and about 95-100lbs

more then 1 hour I had to fight this one, with the new x-heavy jig-worm rod,but hell it was all worth it.

Hey

that can be.

my blog is private and only invited readers can see it.

if you give me your e-mail (in a private message) i can put you on the list.

i had to do this because i had a lot of problems with "fishermen" who didn't search, explore or find anything but only profit of another mans effort!!

offcourse in the netherlands and belgium!!

for you guys no problem at all if you can understand it!

but i think you can translate it anyway.

this is the Wels catfish (siluris glanis) or european catfish.

legends that it's a maneater can grow till about 9ft-10 ft but those are exceptions.

this one I caught after I lost a real monster!!

close combat for about 30 minutes

and then it was over!!

but that's fishing,I catch an even bigger one next time!!

awesome fish for the float-tube!

that's close combat!
and a couple of smaller ones for ending the day in beauty.

some say they're ugly

I think they are just beautiful!!

Hey
I've got an invitation to go to Rio Roosevelt in brazil next year.
fishing in the amazone basin

this kind of fish,catfish,...
I think a bellyboat is out of the question with them piranha's,crocs and all other kinds of "happy to bite you" animals.
Anyone has any experience over there?
it would be a trip with 6 to 8 men with fishingguides in small boats.
is there a small chance for floattubefishing??

rods and reels
anyone have any experience with a daiwa steez631 mhfba rod?
can buy one for a very low price, but also a g-loomis cr 722 glx.
really love the g-loomis rods, not that much bling-bling but does the job perfectly!

Hey
I want to know what fishinggear you use from a bellyboat.
is that a personal thing or is that a general standard?
I think here in europe and especially in belgium and the netherlands we use other rods.
I mainly fish with castingreels, because zander is on the bottem up to 50 feet.
and that bottem goes up and down.
with a castingreel you can counter those different depths very easely.
fishing style is vertical-jigging- bottem-bouncing with shads and vibration lures.(up to 3/4 oz)
I want my rods an axtra-fast action and about 6.6 feet long, sometimes shorter, because we don't cast.
and everything as light as possible.
is that bassfishing completely different?

anyone knows where this is??

I'm not into flyfishing but that is awesome!
and can be done with a castingrod.

Hey
thx for the respons!
and yes that is a zander(walleye),but they are bigger in europe then in the states, however this was a very "big" one.
40 inch and well over 25 pounds, maybe a once in a lifetime fish.
I know the great lakes in Ontario are a little to big for the floattube, without a guide.
June or september is the time I want to go.
I know also that a big muski is hard to catch, especially when it is only for one week.
laketrout is on my list but salmon, smallmount, everything is fine to me.
It isn't for catching big fish(but no problem if it is!),but for the awesome nature and a good time, and doing something special for a belgium fisherman.
I know there are many fly-in lodges, but I am alone and the most of them is for min. 4 persons.
I am open for any option, even Alaska but that's a little bit on the edge I think!
