When I started tubing 20 years ago, and my brother and others started coming along, and being competitive by nature (as I'm sure most of you are) I found we would end up racing ourselves around the water, playing leap frog, trying to get to the new water first, this made for a lot of tension and took a lot of the fun out of the day. So i came up with a solution in the form of a game. "The ilsanjo Boogie" (that's where i was when i came up with the idea). It goes like this. When fishing in smaller groups of 2 to 4 or so fish together one behind the other, the man in front stays in front until he catches a fish, at which time he goes to the back and every one else moves up. However if while fishing from behind a man catches a fish, He gets to come to the front, making a 2 fish swing possible, you win by catching more fish from that trail position. The end result is you get to fish together, the fishing slows down,(in good way) and you can still have a reel fun competition. There are a couple more rules that have come up over the years, like at the back of a cove, you cant turn around and fish the opposite shore until the leader does. And sometimes we play if you get snagged and cant retrieve your lure, you must give up your spot ( this lets the guy in the back be more aggressive than the one in front, nothing to loose you see). Any way that's the just of it. If you've come up with a system like this on your own then sorry to bore you, but if not give it try, it can be a lot of fun.
keep there heads up
